What Meaningful Engagement Looks Like: Perceptions of Peer Research Assistants involved in the Peer2Peer Project
The Peer2Peer Project is aimed at identifying, designing, implementing and evaluating support interventions for peer workers in overdose response settings. A key tenet of this project is the meaningful engagement of peer workers. The project team consists of academic researchers and peer research assistants (PRAs) who are representatives with lived/ living experience of substance use from each of the pilot sites. In this presentation, we will share the results of a qualitative evaluation to assess the benefits, challenges and impact of peer engagement on the PRAs involved in the Peer2Peer Project, and highlight what PRAs described as meaningful engagement TEAM Zahra Mamdani, Jantzen Fan, Jane A.
