Keynote: Reka Gustafson: BCCDC’s role in the Provincial Pandemic Response: Contributions, Challenges and Opportunities

Reka Gustafson BCCDC is playing a key role in the province’s pandemic response. Every area of activity in BCCDC, including epidemiology, vaccine programming, disease modeling,public health diagnostics, advanced analytics, knowledge translation and direct service delivery have contributed to a robust public health response in BC. We are at a turning point in our response, and the real time knowledge generated through applied public health research will be critical to a sustained response that meets both goals: minimizing serious illness and overall mortality and minimizing societal disruption.
