Linda Hoang Carbapenemase producing organisms, bacteria that are resistant to one of the last resort class of antibiotics, continue to be imported from endemic countries to BC healthcare facilities, and spread within and across BC healthcare facilities. Through innovative genomics methods, coupled with provincial surveillance, and in collaboration with health authority infection prevention and control programs, we can better map and respond to this antimicrobial resistant threat to our patients and population.
